Hi there – I recently purchased one of your Golden Traveller panamas from Green Duck Society. It’s a large size and fits well but having looked at your online advice it seems it will probably shrink – do you think I should exchange it for a larger one? Thanks! Robert

Hi Robert
It varies from hat to hat – so its hard to tell. If it is tight on you already, then change it. But if it is a soft comfortable fit it should be fine. The Travellers stretch really well – so if it all goes astray it is easy to address.

Hallo Oska,
I really hope you can help!
The black pleated ribbon has come off of the hat. How do I reattach it? I can see where there were stitches and one end has a metal hook but I don’t know how to fix the endings and on which side to place it!
Thanks

Truffaux Hatmakers replied:
Hi Catherine
What you do is :
1. wrap the ribbon around the hat – creating a little tension 2. sitting it exactly where the brim meets the crown. 3. Then hook the hook through the ribbon and into the straw
Now you might need to do it a few times, to get the hook to sit nicely and where you like it. But just be patient and it will work out easy The first time will be harder, so do a few practice runs and then you will get the hang of it. You will not hurt your hat in the process.

If I ordered a hat right now, when would it arrive in U.S.A., Michigan 48840?

Truffaux Hatmakers replied:
Typically it is 10-12 days to the USA – express is 5-8. What is your timeline? If it is really urgent email me and I will ship same day

Hello, I really think the Caribbean hat would be ideal for me. I live in Florida, so outside in heat for both for work (sales) and go to beach and out on water. Might even wear for weekend yard work. My head size is 22.5 inches, ballcap a 7 1/4. Would I order a Large or Medium? Also, love the New Yorker. Thank you.

Truffaux Hatmakers replied:
Hi David
I would order a large, and a will ship you a small one at 58. Then all will be well. You should also consider the Traveller – a smidge wider.

I purchased a hat in Panama 2015. Can’t remember how much I spent but not sure if it’s the real thing. How can you tell?

Hi Maria
If you look at the centre of the crown of the hat – you will see it spiral out like this post. https://www.truffaux.com/blogs/panama-hat-advice/what-is-a-genuine-panama-hat <https://www.truffaux.com/blogs/panama-hat-advice/what-is-a-genuine-panama-hat>
If you are unsure – just send me a photo
