I bought this hat in preparation for a trip to Vietnam. My requirements were a hat that would look good in both formal and casual settings, as well as a hat that would be able to endure the rigors of travel. What, I wondered, would the hat look like if someone sat on it on the airplane? I had no plans to try to roll it up and put it in my suitcase, but I wanted to make sure it could survive a small amount of abuse. I was getting compliments on the hat even before I boarded the plane. It's a serious hat, a man's hat that carries it an air of sophistication that I rather appreciate. And, as expected, it served me well in Vietnam. It did get bumped around a bit, but always snapped back into perfect condition. I expect it to last for many years, always looking just as good as it does today.
